Irfan A. began their work experience in 2000 in various leadership roles before transitioning into a career in HR. From 2014 to 2019, they worked at Plan International as a Senior Business Partner in People and Culture, where they focused on strategic planning, employee lifecycle functions, coaching, and improving policies and systems. In 2019, they joined the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, first as a Business Partnerships Manager and then as the Head of People and Capability. In these roles, Irfan oversaw people-related initiatives, provided guidance and support to stakeholders, managed HR operations, and ensured employee well-being.
Irfan A. has a Bachelor's degree in Law from Victoria University. Irfan also holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Leo Cussen Centre for Law. Irfan is certified as an Australian Lawyer and Officer of the Supreme Court by the Supreme Court of Victoria. Additionally, they have obtained certifications as a Certified HR Business Partner from AIHR | Academy to Innovate HR, a Certified Mercer CED Job Evaluator from Mercer, a Certified Personality & Ability Assessor (PAAC) from SHL, and a Mental Health First Aider from Mental Health First Aid Australia.
