Joseph Sicilima has a strong background in IT support and operations. Joseph started their career in 2010 as an IT Specialist at KIVUKO GENERAL ENTERPRISES LIMITED, where they designed, installed, configured, operated, and troubleshooted route and switched networks. Joseph also worked with Windows Server and Linux Server technologies.
In 2012, Joseph joined SuperCom as a System Admin, where they worked on the New Tanzania Driving License Project as a Systems Administrator. Joseph handled Windows Server Administration, LAN administrations for all 21 sites in Tanzania Revenue Authority, and installation and configuration of printing and enrolment stations.
In 2013, Joseph joined Telepin as a Field Application Engineer & Network Engineer. Joseph collaborated with the sales team, solution architects, developers, and project managers to implement services as per the Scope of Work and client requirements. Joseph also worked closely with external teams to ensure successful implementation and delivery of products.
Joseph then progressed to the role of Regional Support and Operations Specialist at Telepin in 2016. Joseph provided L2 & L3 support and configuration services on MFS infrastructure, provided technical advice and support to the sales team and R&D, and conducted onsite training for stakeholders.
Currently, Joseph is working as a Regional Support and Operations Team Lead at Telepin. Their responsibilities include handling customer issues, delivering support services according to contracted Service Level Agreements, managing the regional support team, identifying business leads, and building sustainable relationships with customers. Joseph is also responsible for problem management, troubleshooting reported issues, and improving the quality of service.
Joseph Sicilima attended the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a Bsc in Computer Science. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2008, they attended Azania, and from 2002 to 2005, they studied at Msolwa. In terms of certifications, they obtained the following: CompTIA Linux+ from CompTIA in August 2011, MCSA from Microsoft in July 2011, LPIC-1 from the Linux Professional Institute in August 2011, and CCNA from Cisco in November 2009.
