Michel Forest has a extensive work experience in the field of engineering, particularly in the aerospace and satellite industries. Michel most recently held the position of Vice-President of LEO System Engineering at Telesat, where they were responsible for defining end-to-end satellite network and services. Michel also served as the Director of LEO System Engineering at Telesat prior to their promotion. Prior to their work at Telesat, Michel was the Manager of Space Systems Engineering at MDA, where they managed the systems engineering team and was responsible for communication and remote sensing satellite payload. Michel also served as the Manager of Antenna Engineering at MDA, leading the antenna engineering team and contributing to the advancement of antenna technology. Earlier in their career, Michel worked as the Director of Project Management at R2, Manager of Hardware Design at Hyperchip, and Senior Antenna Engineer at Spar Aerospace / EMS Technologies.
Michel Forest completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, which they pursued from 1986 to 1990. Following their undergraduate studies, they joined the University of Ottawa and obtained a Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in the same field of study. This postgraduate degree was completed from 1990 to 1992.
