Steve Zhan

Steve Zhan is a highly experienced engineering leader with a focus on software development for biological and optical instruments. Currently serving as the Director of Instrument Software Engineering at Telesis Bio since May 2020, Steve manages the software group and has played a key role in architecting and developing software for various biological workstations and synthesizers. Prior roles include Principal System Architect Engineer at Telesis Bio, Manager of Software Engineering at Truvian, and Project Manager at Synthetic Genomics, where Steve led significant software projects and ensured compliance with industry standards. Steve's earlier experience spans positions at Trex Enterprises, Ophthonix, Zhone Technology, and Ciena, demonstrating a strong background in project management, software development, and engineering leadership. Steve holds a Ph.D. in Systems Science from Kobe University, an MS in Precision Instrumentation from Tianjin University, and a Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University.
