Marko Yliaho

Marko Yliaho has a diverse work experience that spans over several companies. Marko is currently working as a Software Development Manager at Teleste, where they lead a team of software professionals responsible for Embedded Audio systems, Display SW solutions, and Database and core functions.

Prior to their current role, Marko worked at Basware as a Senior Product Owner, where they played a key role in specifying purchase related functionalities and features in Basware's cloud-based P2P solution. Marko'swork required close collaboration with customers, developers, SW testers, UI design, and customer projects.

Before joining Basware, Marko embarked on an entrepreneurial venture to start a new company focused on SW and HW technology consultation for portable device usability. Although the plan did not materialize, they gained valuable experience in lean canvas, business calculations, and initial discussions with potential customers.

Marko also has experience working at Microsoft as a Technology Manager, where they defined audio technology feature sets for new chipsets and ensured their implementation with high quality. Marko collaborated with various teams, such as audio hardware, audio software, sensor, chipset, OS, and product teams.

Prior to Microsoft, Marko had a long tenure at Nokia, starting in 1997. Marko held multiple roles at Nokia, including Technology Manager, Head of audio technology management, Senior Requirement Manager, Technology Manager, Requirement Manager, Senior SW Engineer, and SW Engineer. In these roles, they were responsible for audio technology requirements, multimedia audio codecs and post-processing, multimedia audio playback quality, and the management of audio SW teams.

Overall, Marko Yliaho has extensive experience in software development, product ownership, technology management, and entrepreneurship.

Marko Yliaho attended Kirkkopuistikon lukio high school from 1990 to 1993. Marko then pursued higher education at Tampere University of Technology from 1994 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering. In 2017, Marko Yliaho obtained a certification as a SAFe 4.0 Advanced Scrum Master from Scaled Agile, Inc.
