Hayley Christian has extensive work experience in the field of research and academia. Hayley is currently employed as a Senior Research Fellow at the Telethon Kids Institute since April 2019. Prior to this, they worked as a National Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellow at the School of Population and Global Health, also based at the Telethon Kids Institute, starting in July 2016. Hayley has also held positions at the University of Western Australia, including Research Assistant Professor since 2009 and Associate Lecturer and Project Coordinator from 2004 to 2005. Additionally, they worked as a Research Coordinator at the University of Western Australia from 2000 to 2003. Before entering academia, Hayley worked as a Clinic Manager at St John of God Health and Injury Management from 1999 to 2000. Throughout their career, they have been recognized with fellowships and grants, including the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)/National Heart Foundation Early Career Fellow from January 2012 to June 2016.
Hayley Christian has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) (Hons1) degree in Human Movement and Exercise Science, which they obtained from The University of Western Australia in 1998. Later on, Hayley pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Population Health at the same university and completed it in 2008.
