Clinical Research Audiologist at Telethon Kids Institute

Karina T. has a diverse work experience in the field of audiology. Karina currently works at the Telethon Kids Institute as a Clinical Research Audiologist, specializing in conducting research related to clinical audiology. Prior to this, they held the position of Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the same institute. In 2021, Karina joined the Child and Adolescent Health Service as a Senior Audiologist, focusing on providing audiological services to children and adolescents. Previously, they worked as a Clinical Audiologist at both Child and Adolescent Health Services (CAHS) and Ear Science Institute Australia. Karina also gained experience as a Senior Audiologist at Microsom and as a Clinical Audiologist at Senses Audiolgia Clinica. Karina started their career at Centro Auditivo Teuto Brasileiro, where they worked as an Audiologist, conducting audiological exams and fitting hearing aids while providing support and training to audiologists. Additionally, Karina worked at Beta Equipamentos Médicos e Eletrônicos, where they were involved in the management of the audiological equipment department. Throughout their career, Karina has demonstrated their expertise in audiology and their commitment to patient care and research.

Karina T. pursued their education in audiology and speech-language pathology. In 2000, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Audiology/Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathology/Pathologist from Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo. Following that, from 2004 to 2005, they pursued a Master's degree in Clinical Audiology at USP - Universidade de São Paulo. More recently, starting in 2015 and concluding in 2020, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Audiology with a focus on Telehealth application on hearing rehabilitative services from Ear Sciences Centre, The University of Western Australia.
