Patricia Agudelo-Romero

Postdoctoral Researcher at Telethon Kids Institute

Patricia Agudelo-Romero has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Patricia began their career as a Research Intern at McCain Foods, where they conducted research in Agricultural Engineering. Following this, they worked as a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the Universitat Politècnica de València, focusing on the evolutionary effects of plant viruses. During their time there, they studied the expansion of host range in Tobacco etch virus and explored adaptation in Arabidopsis thaliana.

Agudelo-Romero then moved on to University of Lisbon, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Biodiversity, Functional & Integrative Genomics. Here, they conducted research on transcriptomic and metabolic profiles during grape ripening under abiotic stress, with a particular focus on the polyamine pathway and fruit development. Patricia also studied host/pathogen interactions using omics approaches.

After their time at University of Lisbon, Agudelo-Romero became a Research Associate at The University of Western Australia. During this period, they contributed to various research projects, although specific details were not provided.

Most recently, Agudelo-Romero joined the Telethon Kids Institute as a Postdoctoral Researcher. The details of their work and projects at this organization were not specified.

Patricia Agudelo-Romero has an extensive education history. Patricia first obtained a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering from Universidad de los Llanos in the years 1994 to 2000. Patricia then pursued further studies at Universitat Politècnica de València, where they completed a postgraduate degree in Biotechnology from 2001 to 2002, and later obtained a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from 2001 to 2003. Continuing their academic journey, Patricia completed a PhD in Biotechnology at Universitat Politècnica de València from 2004 to 2008.
