Sarah Plewe has extensive work experience in user experience and interaction design, primarily in the fields of robotics, digital solutions, and automotive technology.
Sarah currently holds the position of Director of User Experience at Telos Health, a role they began in April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Johnson & Johnson as a Senior Manager of User Experience for Robotics & Digital Solutions from March 2021 to April 2022. Before that, they held the role of Principal UX Designer in the same department from April 2020 to March 2021.
From 2018 to 2020, Plewe worked at Auris Health, Inc. as a Principal UX Designer, leading the design for robotic systems from ideation to final product and advocating for the user throughout the program and company.
Before joining Auris Health, Inc., they worked at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. in various roles. From July 2017 to August 2018, they served as a Principal Interaction Designer, defining user interaction design best practices and creating UX visions for in-car systems and connected services. Prior to that, they were a Senior Interaction Designer from April 2016 to June 2017, developing innovative concepts for multi-modal UX projects and providing guidance for junior team members. Sarah also worked as an Interaction Designer from April 2014 to March 2016, creating novel UX concepts for automotive infotainment systems.
Plewe began their career as a Consultant in Automotive UI Design at Spiegel Institut in 2013, where they designed and developed Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) for display and operating concepts in the automobile sector.
In 2012, they worked as a Human Factors Intern at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc., supporting the research and development of in-vehicle infotainment systems.
Their earlier work experience includes a role as a Research Assistant in Education at MTO Psychological Research and Consulting from June 2011 to February 2012. Sarah was responsible for creating training materials and supporting statistical data evaluation.
During their time as a Master's student, Plewe conducted research on the influencing factors for environmental consumerism, with a special focus on e-cars. Sarah also interned in the Leadership Development division at Daimler, supporting the conceptualization and organization of development programs for leaders.
Plewe's work experience began in 2008 as a Research Assistant at the University of Tuebingen, where they supported an experimental research project on information processing and created teaching materials for courses.
Sarah Plewe obtained a Diplom (equals MSc) in Psychology from the University of Tübingen, which they attended from 2006 to 2012. In 2017, they completed a program in Leading Creative Ideation at Cooper Professional Education. The following year, in 2018, they pursued a program in Service Design Immersive, also at Cooper Professional Education. In addition, they obtained a certification as a Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience (CPUX-F) from the German UPA (Usability Professionals' Association) in June 2013.
