Rick Kilgore, PhD

Rick Kilgore, PhD has a diverse work experience in various software engineering roles. Rick started their professional career in 2004 at Amazon.com as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineering Manager. During their time there, they developed a risk and opportunity planning system and a UI for entering and viewing forecasts. Rick left Amazon.com in 2013 to join HBO, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead, and Software Engineering Manager. At HBO, they created the first microservice for a content services project. In 2017, they joined Meta as a Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead, where they focused on improving the customer experience of a voice and video over IP app on mobile and desktop. Rick'sresponsibilities included identifying and fixing bugs and enhancing audio recording and encoding capabilities. Currently, they are working at Tempus Ex as a Staff Software Engineer. In this role, they are involved in building functionality for a GraphQL API and supporting backend services that calculate and store sports statistics, audio and video data, and Computer Vision data. Rick is responsible for overall system design, influencing product and features direction, and individual service implementation, operations, and maintenance.

Rick Kilgore, PhD has a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Rick also holds a Master of Science - MS degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
