Brandon Fornwalt, MD PhD, currently serves as Senior Vice President of Cardiology at Tempus Labs, Inc., since September 2021. Previously, from 2015 to 2021, Brandon was an Associate Professor and Founding Chair of the Department of Translational Data Science and Informatics at Geisinger Health System, where Brandon secured over $3 million in external funding, led a strategic partnership for an FDA Breakthrough Status software for heart arrhythmia prediction, and contributed to numerous top-tier publications. Earlier in Brandon's career as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Engineering, and Physiology at the University of Kentucky, Brandon co-directed the MD/PhD medical scientist training program and led cardiovascular imaging research projects, earning the NIH Director’s Early Independence Award. Brandon holds an MD from Emory University School of Medicine, a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and has completed residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Geisinger, along with an internship in Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.
