Ashley Schaefer has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ashley is currently the Head of Cell Development at Ten-Nine Technologies since September 2021. Prior to that, they worked at The Battery Innovation Center from 2014 to 2021, holding various roles including Director of Programs and Advanced Battery Manufacturing Team Manager. In these positions, they oversaw R&D and cell prototype projects, managed project timelines and budgets, and facilitated project organization. Before joining The Battery Innovation Center, Ashley was an Energy Efficiency Engineer at Out Performers from 2013 to 2014. Ashley also served as a Sustainable Energy Lab Research Assistant at Virginia Tech from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, they gained construction experience as a Construction Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity Charlotte in 2009. Ashley started their career as an Assistant Team Leader at AmeriCorps NCCC from 2008 to 2008.
Ashley Schaefer has a strong educational background in mathematics, biology, and mechanical engineering. Ashley obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they attended from 2003 to 2007. Following their undergraduate studies, Ashley pursued further education at Virginia Tech, where they obtained their Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2009 to 2012.
