Niko Zhao has been in the tech industry for over a decade, starting in 2007 as a Hardware System Engineer at VIA Technologies, Inc. In 2009, they were promoted to Manager of the SSD System Team and Technical Team Leader, where they were responsible for SATA GEN2 SSD development, SATA bridge chip FPGA emulation, FPGA development flow, x86 nano CPU implementation into self-designed FPGA boards, FPGA debug job, 4 V5 FPGA high speed FPGA board design, and x86 CPU FSB bus capture system development job. In 2018, they were appointed as the Sr. Director of Hardware Engineering at TenaFe Inc.

Niko Zhao obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Xidian University between 2000 and 2004. niko then obtained a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the same university between 2004 and 2007.
