Katherine Zarate Dulany, Esq. AWI-CH has extensive experience in the legal field. Katherine Zarate has been a Principal and Founder at Zarate Dulany Law, P.C. since 2014, where they offer personalized, practical employment law advice and general litigation services. Katherine Zarate also served as General Counsel/CFO at Tenbound from 2016.

Before that, they were a School Board Member at Jefferson Union High School District from 2007 to 2016. From 2004 to 2007, they were an Attorney at Coblentz, Patch, Duffy & Bass LLP, where they defended lawsuits involving claims of wrongful termination, disability discrimination, failure to provide reasonable accommodations, sex discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations in state/federal court and before administrative agencies. Katherine Zarate also advised employers on a wide range of issues involving hiring, firing, and disciplining; overtime rules and exemptions, meal period and rest break requirements, alternative work schedule rules, and other wage and hour laws; leaves of absence, reasonable accommodation, and the interactive process; reductions in force, restructuring, and severance plans; non-solicitation and non-compete agreements; non-discrimination and anti-harassment policies; and a range of other employment matters.

Prior to that, they were an Attorney at Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner, LLP (formerly, Thelen Reid & Priest LLP) from 2001 to 2004, where they defended employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour lawsuits in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.

Katherine Zarate Dulany, Esq. AWI-CH completed their High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates at Xavier College Preparatory from 1990 to 1994. Katherine Zarate then attended Cornell University from 1994 to 1998 and earned a BS, with Honors in Industrial and Labor Relations. Katherine Zarate subsequently attended the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law from 1998 to 2001, where they earned a JD and a Certificate in Intellectual Property.
