Taura Jefferson, Ed.D. has a strong background in education administration and management. Taura began their career in 2002 with Memphis City Schools, where they held various roles including Instructional Supervisor and Instructional Facilitator. In 2013, they joined Shelby County Schools as an Operations Manager. Currently, they serve as the Director of Operations for the Tennessee Board of Regents, a position they have held since April 2020.

From 1994 to 1999, they attended The University of Memphis where they obtained multiple degrees including Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), and Master of Science (MS) in Marketing Management.

In 2007, they enrolled in Union University and obtained a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General, which they completed in 2011.

Furthermore, in 2007-2008, Taura Jefferson pursued an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Educational Administration and Supervision.
