Sandhya Mudumbi has worked at Tennessee Oncology since May 2020 as the Medical Director. Prior to that, they worked at AseraCare from September 2019 to December 2020 as a Hospice Physician. Sandhya also worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from July 2017 to July 2019 as a Palliative Care Physician, where they provided clinical care, conducted consultations, and served as a preceptor for medical students, residents, and fellows.
Sandhya Mudumbi completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Theology from Saint Louis University in 2008. Sandhya then went on to obtain a Doctor of Medicine degree from Stony Brook University in 2013. Following their medical degree, they undertook an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2013 to 2016. After that, they pursued a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at the same institution from 2016 to 2017. From 2017 to 2019, they engaged in a NIH T32 Postdoctoral Fellowship also at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
