D. Joshua Burgess

D. Joshua Burgess possesses a robust background in metallurgical and welding engineering, currently serving as Vice President of the American Welding Society and slated to become President in 2026. Since July 2018, D. Joshua Burgess has held the position of Senior Program Manager for Metallurgical & Welding at the Tennessee Valley Authority while simultaneously working as a Lead Welding Engineer at GE Power since November 2015. Prior experience includes serving as District 8 Director for the American Welding Society from 2013 to 2020 and working as a Metallurgical/Welding Engineer at Alstom Power from April 2014 to November 2015. D. Joshua Burgess holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Metallurgical and Welding Engineering as well as a Master’s degree and Bachelor of Science in Materials Science Engineering, all from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
