James Sanneman has over 40 years of work experience in various roles and industries.
James began their career in the United States Army Security Agency, where they served as a Morse Code Interceptor and later as a Crypto Specialist.
After their military service, Sanneman worked as a General Manager for Lums Restaurants before transitioning to the field of regional planning as a Regional Planning Architect for the Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission.
James then joined the City of Lafayette, Indiana as a Community Development Architect, where they created and managed public/private partnership programs and served as a project manager for various infrastructure and building design projects.
Sanneman then moved into the private sector, working as a Sales Manager for Solite Corporation, where they managed market development teams for Solite Lightweight aggregates.
James later became the Vice President of Marketing for Oberfield's Inc., before joining Contech as a Tensar Business Manager. In this role, they managed the Tensar geogrid business and was responsible for channel management, sales management, and strategy development.
Sanneman then worked at Tensar, a division of CMC, first as a Regional Sales Manager, then as a Business Development Manager, where they focused on creating new business opportunities for Roadway systems products through customer-focused training and education. James also served as a Customer Education Manager, developing marketing communications and customer education events for Tensar's customers.

James Sanneman received their Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University, where they studied from 1976 to 1979.
