Michelle H.

Michelle H. has work experience in various educational and scientific institutions. Michelle currently works at Teq as the Director of Content and Curriculum since August 2019. Prior to this, they were a Curriculum Specialist at Teq from January 2019 to August 2019. Michelle has also worked at The WaterFront Center as the STEM & Logistics Director from January 2018 to December 2018, and as the STEAM Coordinator from February 2016 to January 2018. Michelle was an Educator at Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center from October 2015 to February 2016, and a STEM Educator at Connecticut Science Center from September 2014 to February 2015.

Michelle's earlier work experience includes being an NSF GK-12 SPartACUS Fellow at the University of New England from July 2012 to July 2014, and an Intern at Mystic Seaport from March 2012 to May 2012. Michelle also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut from May 2011 to August 2011, and from September 2009 to August 2011. Michelle has served as an Ocean Camp/ Diversity Institute Counselor at Project Oceanology from July 2009 to August 2010, and as a Research Assistant at Mystic Seaport from May 2010 to June 2010. Michelle started their career as a Lab Assistant at the University of Connecticut in May 2009.

Michelle H. completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Marine Sciences from the University of Connecticut-Avery Point, attending from 2008 to 2012. Michelle then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Marine Science from the University of New England, which they completed from 2012 to 2015.

In addition to their formal education, Michelle has obtained several certifications. Michelle became a Kami Certified Educator - Level 1 through Kami in March 2023 and a SMART and Lumio Gold Ambassador through SMART Technologies in January 2023. Michelle also achieved the Wakelet Certified and Wakelet Ambassador certifications in September 2022 and August 2022, respectively. In July 2022, they became a Lumio Certified Trainer through SMART Technologies. Furthermore, Michelle obtained the SHRM - People Manager Qualification from The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in May 2022. Michelle also holds the Adobe Creative Educator Level 1 certification from Adobe Education, attained in August 2020, and the Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator certification from Microsoft, earned in June 2020. Michelle additionally holds the Google Certified Educator Level 2 certification from Google, obtained in August 2020, and the Google Certified Educator Level 1 certification, achieved in February 2019. Lastly, they obtained the BLS Provider & Heart Saver First Aid certification from the American Heart Association in July 2018.
