Almudena Montero Contreras

Lead VFX Artist at Tequila Works

Almudena Montero Contreras has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.

Almudena recently started working at Tequila Works as a VFX Artist in August 2021.

Prior to that, Almudena served as a Profesora Postgrado at Voxel School from November 2018 to July 2021.

Almudena also worked at Voxel Labs, S.L. from May 2018 to July 2021, holding various roles including Lead Artist, 3D Generalist Artist, and Enviroment & Tech Artist.

Almudena had a teaching position at ESNE, Escuela Universitaria de Diseño, Innovación y Tecnología, where they taught basic 3D modeling in the Degree in Design and Video Game Development, as well as digital sculpture and texturing in the Higher Degree Cycle of 3D Animation and Interactive Environments, from September 2017 to August 2019.

Almudena gained experience as an Artista 3D, Animator, and VFX artist at Black Chili Goat Studio from December 2016 to December 2017.

Almudena also worked as a Modelador 3D and Production collaborator at Animatoon Studio from May 2017 to August 2017.

Prior to entering the field of game development and animation, Almudena worked as a library intern at Ayuntamiento San Lorenzo de El Escorial from September 2015 to April 2017.

Almudena also taught photography at an Asociación cultural from January 2016 to June 2016.

Previously, Almudena worked as a photographer, retoucher, and post-production manager at Indalfoto from June 2012 to September 2015.

Lastly, they worked as a lifeguard at SOS Piscinas from 2008 to 2011.

Almudena Montero Contreras began their education in 2010 at IES Principe Felipe, where they pursued a Grado Superior en Imagen. Their field of study was in Comunicación, imagen y sonido. After completing their degree in 2012, they enrolled in Facultad de Bellas Artes UCM, where they pursued a Grado en Diseño. Their field of study was in Diseño en los Nuevos Medios, and they completed this degree in 2016. In the same year, Almudena also attended Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where they participated in a Taller de desarrollo de Videojuegos as part of Cursos de Verano. Also in 2016, they studied at Voxel School and completed a Curso VFX en Simulación de fluidos, Render y Compositing. Finally, in 2016-2017, Almudena Montero Contreras attended Universidad Complutense de Madrid again, this time pursuing a Master Arte de Videojuegos en Voxel School. Their field of study in this program was Diseño de videojuegos y contenido interactivo, and they completed their master's degree in 2017.
