Galen Dougherty

Senior Construction Manager at TeraWatt Infrastructure

Galen Dougherty has a diverse work experience spanning from 2014 to 2022. In 2014, Galen worked as a Test Engineering Intern at WESTPAK, Inc., where they collaborated with engineers to assess test needs and designed fixtures to meet customer specifications. In 2015, Galen interned as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Medtronic, focusing on qualifying equipment for product testing and conducting Gage R&R tests. They also worked as a Mechanics Success Tutor at California Polytechnic State University, providing free tutoring in engineering classes.

From 2017 to 2021, Galen joined Webcor, starting as a Project Engineer Intern on the Park Tower project. They later became a Project Engineer on the UCSF Block 33 project, where they implemented various process improvements, such as piloting a 3D laser-scan to 3D Revit model comparison process and creating visual management tools. Galen then transitioned to the role of Senior Project Engineer - 706 Mission, where they resolved construction issues and supported a crew of 65 union carpenters and laborers.

In 2021, Galen joined Volta Charging as a Construction Project Manager, responsible for overseeing construction projects. They were later promoted to Senior Manager - Construction and Engineering, Western Region in 2022.

Currently, Galen is employed at TeraWatt Infrastructure as a Project Development Manager, a role they started in 2022.

Galen Dougherty attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2013 to 2017, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
