Stephen Johnston

Stephen Johnston has extensive work experience in the accounting and financial reporting field. Stephen currently holds the position of VP, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller at Terex Corporation since May 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Accounting Officer at Terex Corporation from November 2020 to June 2022, responsible for overseeing the company's global accounting and financial reporting operations. Stephen also held the role of Director of External Reporting at Terex Corporation from May 2017 to November 2020, where they directed all aspects of financial reporting with the SEC and led initiatives to improve the financial reporting process.

Before joining Terex Corporation, Stephen worked at Gen Re, where they held the roles of Vice President - Head of Consolidated Financial Reporting and Global Budgeting from October 2014 to February 2017, and Vice President - Global Director of Internal Audit from August 2011 to October 2014. In these roles, they managed financial consolidation, expense management, accounting policies, internal audits, and provided analysis and insights to boards and management.

Stephen began their career at Deloitte as an Audit Senior Manager, where they oversaw multiple engagements and resolved legal, regulatory, and accounting issues for clients in various industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, and cable industries. Stephen worked at Deloitte from August 2001 to July 2011.

Additionally, Stephen served as a Sponsor at the Financial Executives International CT/Westchester Chapter from 2009 to 2010.

Throughout their career, Stephen has achieved notable accomplishments, such as improving the effectiveness and efficiency of financial reporting departments, optimizing internal controls, and enhancing the clarity and quality of financial disclosures.

Stephen Johnston attended Grove City College from 1997 to 2001 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus on Accounting and Communications. In January 2023, they also obtained a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license from the State of Connecticut's Department of Consumer Protection.
