Youssel Abreu

Youssel Abreu has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. Youssel has held various managerial and technical roles in different companies.

Starting in 2014, Youssel worked as a Full Stack Developer at Pixel and Line. Youssel was responsible for developing custom WordPress plugins, JavaScript-based games for mobile applications, and implementing new themes in Drupal. Youssel also contributed to rewriting an application used by cable agencies, universities, and news production companies.

From 2015 to 2017, Youssel worked at FLEXTECHS as an Application Developer and Software Consultant. Youssel designed, developed, and maintained web applications using .NET. Youssel also worked with PHP, Laravel, WordPress, and Expression Engine.

In 2017, Youssel joined Ventive LLC as a Director of Development. In this role, they led Microsoft stack projects, served as a Project Manager and Technical Product Owner, and managed distributed teams. Youssel was responsible for hiring, evaluating, coaching, and supervising software developers.

In the same year, Youssel also served as the Director of Technology at PorchLight Real Estate Group (Ventive's Client). Youssel held this position for a year before moving on to their next role.

From 2018 to present, Youssel worked at National General as a Software Engineer Manager. Initially, they served as a Lead Software Developer and Manager, leading a team of developers and QA resources. Youssel focused on new development projects, implementing micro-service architecture using .NET Core and Angular. Later, they were promoted to the position of Software Engineering Manager.

In 2023, Youssel joined Terra Dotta, LLC as a Software Engineering Manager where they currently hold the role.

Youssel Abreu's education history begins in 1996 when they enrolled at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña and studied Systems Engineering for 2.5 years until 1999. Youssel then transferred to the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo in 2000, where they pursued Systems Engineering for a year until 2001.

In terms of additional certifications, Youssel obtained Database Administration I from the Instituto Tecnologio de las Americas ITLA in June 2008 and Database Administration II from the same institution in January 2009.
