Chris Fries

Chris Fries is currently the Design Authority Business Manager at TerraPower, a position held since April 2023. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Development at Solterra Energy from August 2022 to April 2023 and Director, Development Technology Manager at Florida Power & Light Company from July 2020 to August 2022. Chris has an extensive background at NextEra Energy, Inc. from 2007 to 2020, fulfilling various roles such as Digital Transformation/AI Product Owner, Solar Energy Developer, and Principal Engineer for Nuclear Projects, among others. Early in Chris's career, notable experience was gained as an 08S & 08G Engineer at Naval Reactors from 2002 to 2007. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from the University of Florida and a Master's degree in Engineering/Industrial Management from Old Dominion University.
