Kelly Harrington

Kelly Harrington is an experienced materials engineer with a focus on tribology and material testing. Currently serving as Manager of Materials Testing and Principal Engineer at TerraPower since October 2021, Kelly leads development initiatives for testing wear and friction coefficients in liquid sodium environments. Prior experience at Pratt & Whitney, from May 2011 to September 2021, involved roles as a Staff Materials Engineer and participation in a Materials and Processes Engineering Development Program, where Kelly contributed to high-temperature wear-resistant material and coating development, alongside performing mechanical test data analysis for aerospace applications. Earlier roles included internships at GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA, the University of Connecticut Health Center, and Sherwin Williams. Kelly holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Hartford Graduate Center and a BA in Chemistry/Mathematics from Smith College.
