Jordan Carelli

Jordan Carelli has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. From 2021 to the present, Carelli has worked at Terremoto Biosciences, starting as a Principal Scientist before moving on to become an Associate Director and eventually the Director of the company.

Prior to joining Terremoto Biosciences, Carelli worked at Pfizer from 2017 to 2021, where they held the position of Principal Scientist.

Before their time at Pfizer, Carelli was a Graduate Student at the University of California, San Francisco, from 2011 to 2017. There, they conducted research on cyclic peptide natural products and their cellular targets, working with advisor Jack Taunton. Carelli also served as a Catalyst Student Intern and a Graduate Teaching Assistant during their time at the university.

In 2009, Carelli held a research internship as an RISE Undergraduate Research Intern with the DAAD German Academic Exchange Service, where they focused on molecular cloning and protein expression.

Lastly, Carelli began their career as a Bicycle Mechanic and Salesperson at Wheels of Justice Cyclery from 2002 to 2007.

Jordan Carelli earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Puget Sound, a four-year institution, from 2007 to 2011. Subsequently, from 2011 to 2017, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the University of California, San Francisco.
