Craig MacLean

Craig Maclean is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in product development and academic collaboration. Currently serving as a Board Trustee at Achieve More Scotland since January 2023, Craig has held significant roles at Terumo Aortic since November 2017, including Principal Engineer and Lead Engineer, focusing on device durability studies and Finite Element Analysis. Craig's background includes contributions as a Senior Product Development Engineer, developing innovative methods for analyzing vascular grafts, and as a Visiting Researcher supporting collaborations with the University of Strathclyde. With a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Craig has a strong foundation in optimal control theory, having researched analytical motion planning on 3D Lie groups. Previous roles also include Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant, demonstrating a commitment to education and industry-academic partnerships.
