Namgay Tshering, P.E. has a diverse work experience in the field of electrical and power systems engineering. Namgay started their career as an intern at Bhutan Power Corporation in 2004. Namgay later worked as a technician at the Tala Hydroelectric Project, where they were involved in the installation of various electrical equipment and also worked in power plant operations. From 2009 to 2010, Namgay worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at California State University, Chico, where they built a Digital Programmable Load for Hardware-In-Loop simulation and performed Induction Motor Model Analysis. In 2011, they joined Eigen as a Design Engineer, where they designed motor controllers and power distribution systems for medical devices, conducted emission and immunity tests, and developed electrical schematics. Since 2012, Namgay has been working at Tesco Controls, Inc. as an Electrical & Power Systems Engineer. In this role, they design power distribution and control systems for utilities and water & wastewater treatment plants, conducts short circuit studies and arc flash risk assessments, and sizes distribution transformers and other electrical equipment.

Namgay first attended Punakha High School from 1994 to 1997, where they completed their General Education studies in a variety of subjects. Following this, they enrolled in Sherubtse College in Bhutan from 1998 to 2000, where they pursued a Pre-University Course focused on Science & Mathematics.
In 2000, Namgay Tshering continued their education at Vellore Institute of Technology in India, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, graduating in 2004. Building upon this foundation, they then pursued a Master's degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering at California State University, Chico from 2009 to 2010.
