Ashok Elluswamy

Ashok Elluswamy is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in autonomy software development. At Tesla since January 2014, Ashok currently serves as Director of Autopilot Software, where leadership is provided to the autonomy software team with a focus on creating large-scale automatic ground truth pipelines for neural network training. Career progression at Tesla includes roles as Senior Staff Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Software Engineer, contributing to significant advancements in geometric scene understanding and computer vision systems for Autopilot. Prior to Tesla, Ashok completed a research internship at Volkswagen Electronic Research Lab, working on camera-based perception systems for autonomous driving, and held a software engineering position at WABCO Vehicle Control Systems, which involved vehicle dynamics and control. Ashok holds a Master of Science in Robotic Systems Development from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai.
