Kassi Stein

Kassi Stein is a Senior Scientist at Tessera Therapeutics since November 2021, with a background in process engineering and cellular process development. Previous roles include Scientist II at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where Kassi developed scale-down models and implemented processing methods, and Scientist I at bluebird bio, focusing on production processes for gene therapy. Kassi earned a PhD and MS in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where significant research was conducted on mitochondrial toxicity and continuous bioprocessing. Early academic and professional experiences include roles at FDA, Emirates Global Aluminium, and various research co-op positions, highlighting a strong foundation in biochemical engineering. As an advocate for STEM education, Kassi has also coordinated programs for high school students at Northeastern University.
