Yohann Potier

Yohann Potier has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and informatics. Yohann currently holds the position of Senior Director, Data Platform at Tessera Therapeutics, where they joined in 2021 as Director, Data Platform. Prior to this, Yohann worked at Voyager Therapeutics, Inc. as the Director of Data Science & Informatics from 2019 to 2021.

Before joining Voyager Therapeutics, Yohann had an extensive tenure at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) starting from 2014. Yohann held various positions including Group Lead Biologics Platform Informatics, Technical Associate Director, and Senior Principal Analyst in Scientific Informatics Systems. Their responsibilities involved collaborating with software engineers, technical architects, and business analysts to deliver informatics solutions for scientific teams across different disease areas and platforms. Yohann focused on biologics, cell and gene therapy, and neuroscience domains, and worked on AWS and on-premises deployments, DevOps practices, data modeling, data pipeline, and data management for scientific workflows. Yohann also conducted data analysis using Python, R, and Spotfire. Additionally, they actively followed the advancements in computational and software capabilities in the industry to apply them to NIBR.

Prior to their time at NIBR, Yohann worked at PerkinElmer as a Business Analyst and Project Manager in the Professional Services Informatics division from 2009 to 2014. Yohann started their career at the San Diego Supercomputer Center as an Analyst/Programmer in Bioinformatics in 2003.

Yohann Potier earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Zurich between 2004 and 2009. Prior to that, between 2001 and 2003, they obtained a Master's degree in Biotechnology and Informatics from the Université de Poitiers. Yohann also holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Université de Rennes I, which they acquired from 1995 to 2001. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including "Data Engineering with Dagster" from CoRise in 2022, "Serverless Data Processing on AWS" from Udemy in 2019, and various business and finance-related certifications from Coursera Course Certificates between 2015 and 2016.
