Umut Alptekin

Umut Alptekin's work experience includes being a Software Developer at TestInvite, where they were responsible for front-end development using TypeScript and Vue.js for a web app, as well as website maintenance and SEO optimization. Prior to that, they worked as a Student Tech Services Consultant at Penn State University, troubleshooting and repairing computers and phones, maintaining campus labs, and assisting users with technical difficulties. They also served as an International Student Orientation Leader during their time at Penn State. Additionally, Umut worked as a Manufacturing Engineer Intern at CN Wire Corporation, where they analyzed non-conforming products, optimized work areas, and conducted financial analysis. Finally, they had a Trade Marketing Internship at Yörsan.

Umut Alptekin has a diverse education history. In 2011, they obtained their High School Diploma in General Studies from İstanbul Özel Saint-Joseph Fransız Lisesi / Lycée Français Privé Saint-Joseph d'Istanbul. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, completing it in 2020. During their time at Penn State, Umut also enrolled in various micro-credentials, including a Project Management Micro-Credential and a Value Engineering Micro-Credential, offered by Penn State College of Engineering in 2019. In 2018, they participated in a summer program on Industrial Engineering at Pforzheim University. Umut further expanded their skill set by obtaining certifications such as the Certified SolidWorks Associate from Dassault Systèmes in 2019 and the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services in 2021. Additionally, they acquired expertise in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) by completing the Introduction to CNC course provided by Tenaris in 2020. Umut also holds a Certificate in Full Stack Web Development from The University of Texas at Austin – Center for Professional Education, which they obtained in 2020.
