Matthew Doughty has diverse work experience in various roles, primarily in the electrical industry. Matthew began their career as a Technician/Site Foreman at Dunnington Electrical Services Ltd., where they managed shopfitting projects throughout the UK and supervised a team of electricians. Matthew then progressed to the role of Contracts Manager, successfully delivering multiple projects and handling electrical quotations, tendering, and procurement. As General Manager of the same company, they were responsible for sales, estimating, operations, and project management.

Matthew later joined B12 Comunicaciones as a Commercial & Operations Manager, implementing streamlined company processes and contributing to revenue growth. Subsequently, they worked at Smart Electrical SpA in Chile as an Electrical Contracts Manager, overseeing solar PV projects, custom installations, and ensuring compliance with British and Chilean standards. Additionally, they acted as an intermediary between the British Embassy in Santiago and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office to deliver bespoke technical solutions.

Matthew's experience also includes working as an Electrical Contracts Manager for JDL Electrical, Plumbing, and Heating Ltd, where they designed and managed M&E projects for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. Currently, they serve as a Business Development Manager at TESVOLT AG, leading the business development of energy storage systems in the UK & Ireland, developing marketing strategies, and employing a consultative sales approach for various solutions.

During a sabbatical, Matthew embarked on a round-the-world trip, during which they engaged in charitable activities and maintained off-grid solar PV installations in Costa Rica. Overall, Matthew Doughty possesses a comprehensive skill set and experience in electrical contracting, project management, operations, and business development.

Matthew Doughty's education history is as follows:

In 1995, they attended York College in York, UK, where they pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies/Technicians. Matthew completed their studies in 1998, obtaining a City & Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Part 1 & 2 qualification.

In 1998, they enrolled in Leeds College of Technology and pursued a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Matthew completed the City & Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Work Part 3 (C Course) from 1998 to 2000.

In 2003, they returned to Leeds College of Technology to obtain the City & Guilds 2391 qualification in Electrical Engineering.

In 2014, they attended Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, focusing on Business Administration and Management, but did not complete a specific degree program.

Finally, in 2016, they attended the Solar Academy at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, where they studied Innovation & entrepreneurship in the Chilean solar PV market.
