Douglas Wise has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Douglas began their career in 1992 as an Engineering Manager at SGC Inc, where they oversaw the design of RF Linear Amplifiers. Douglas later worked at RD Radio Inc as President, managing the company's direction and focusing on designing and developing a new HF marine transceiver.

In 1997, Wise joined Motorola, where they held various positions including Hardware Engineer, Engineering Manager, and Software Integration Manager. During their time at Motorola, they managed software engineers, supported the development of cellular telephones, and handled troubleshooting and engineering change requests.

Wise also worked at Microsoft, both in the United States and China. Their roles at Microsoft included Lead Hardware Test Engineer, Design Verification Manager, and Test Lead. Douglas managed various teams, oversaw test procedures, and contributed to the development of new test systems.

In 2006, Wise joined Loud Technologies as the Engineering Test Manager, where they managed manufacturing test engineering, design verification, and compliance engineering teams.

Wise's most recent work experience is as a Senior Test Engineer at Microsoft, where they served as the post-launch engineering outsourced test manager for Surface Computers. Douglas focused on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and increasing capacity and quality of external test companies.

In 2023, Wise joined Tethers Unlimited, Inc. as the Test Engineering Lead.

Throughout their career, Wise has demonstrated expertise in test engineering, design verification, and management. Their experience spans various industries including technology, telecommunications, and manufacturing.

Douglas Wise received an ASET degree in Electronics from Clackamas Community College in 1980. Douglas later obtained a BSEE degree in Control Systems from Portland State University in 1983. In 1992, they completed their education with an MSEE degree in Communications Systems from the University of Washington.
