Doug van Pelt

Doug Van Pelt is an experienced communications and marketing professional with a blend of expertise in writing, editing, graphic design, and social media management. Currently serving as a Communications Specialist at the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation since March 2018, and as a Marketing Communication Specialist at the Texas Department of Agriculture since March 2013, Doug acts as the primary liaison between the marketing department and the rest of the agency. Prior to these roles, Doug spent nearly 28 years as an Editor for HM Magazine, overseeing all aspects of creative content and production for an internationally circulated publication. Additionally, Doug has taught a class on Entrepreneurship at a homeschool co-op and held a position with the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee. Doug holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.
