Chip Riggins MD, MPH, FAAFP, FACPM is a seasoned public health professional currently serving as a Senior Associate in Public Health Systems at Texas Health Institute since November 2021. Previously, Riggins held various leadership roles, including Regional Administrator and Regional Medical Director at the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals from March 2015 to October 2021. Riggins also served as an Assistant Professor and Deputy Preventive Medicine Residency Director at Texas A&M Health Science Center's College of Medicine from January 2010 to March 2015, contributing to residency programs and medical education. As Executive Director and Health Authority for the Williamson County and Cities Health District from September 2009 to December 2014, Riggins directed comprehensive public health services. In addition to civilian roles, Riggins held military positions, including Colonel and Joint Chief Surgeon in the Texas Military Forces and Air Surgeon at the National Guard Bureau. Riggins holds extensive educational qualifications, including an MD, MPH, and multiple residency certifications.
