Mark G. Bateman joined Scottish Rite for Children in 2010 as Senior Vice President of Public Relations overseeing Communications, Development, Special Events and Volunteer Services. The combined efforts of these departments function as Scottish Rite’s external relations and brand building team. With Mark’s leadership, the team supports the more than 200 annual events designed to inform and engage the public in the organization's mission of “Giving Children Back Their Childhood.” The events range from fundraisers, community and patient events to health care and medical events, and all with the goal of making friends for the Scottish Rite. Mark volunteered at Scottish Rite for many years prior to joining the administrative staff.
Before joining Scottish Rite for Children, Mark served as chief executive officer of the Dallas office of Publicis, the world’s largest communications company. During his 26 years at Publicis, Mark was part of the team responsible for renaming and rebranding the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
Mark earned his undergraduate degree in advertising at The University of Texas College of Communication and a master’s degree in advertising from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Mark currently serves on the board of the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce and the board of Friends of Reverchon Park. He previously served on the North Texas board of the Association of American Advertising Agencies, and was a guest lecturer for The College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin.
