Mike Wintemute

Mike Wintemute, Ph.D., serves as the Vice Chancellor for Marketing & Communications and Executive Director of the TSUS Foundation, Inc. at The Texas State University System since May 2010, having previously held the roles of Deputy Vice Chancellor and Associate Vice Chancellor for Governmental Relations. Prior to joining Texas State, Mike served as the Communications Director for the Lieutenant Governor of Texas and held various communications roles in California's government, including Deputy Secretary for External Affairs at the California Resources Agency. Mike's earlier experience includes positions as a Communications Director and News Reporter/Anchor with several radio stations and the California State Assembly. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Media & Communication from Texas Tech University, an MA in Communication Studies from California State University-Sacramento, and a BA in Telecommunications from California State University, Fresno.
