Rebecca Bell-Metereau has had a long and diverse career in academia. Rebecca began working at Texas State University in 1981, initially as a Professor of English and later also taking on the role of Director of Media Studies Minor. Rebecca also briefly served as a Special Assistant to the President from 1995 to 1997. In 1997, they became a member of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies.
Rebecca Bell-Metereau received their AB, MA, and PhD degrees in English and Film from Indiana University, where they studied from 1976 to 1981. Prior to that, they earned their AB, MA, and PhD degrees in English from Indiana University Bloomington from 1967 to 1981.
