James Petty, M.S.

James Petty, M.S. has a wealth of experience in the technology field. James began their career in 2007 as an IT Intern for the Tennessee Attorney General's Office. In 2009, they worked as a Network Administrator for Hutchinson FTS and a Resnet Support for Tennessee Technological University. From 2012 to 2021, they worked as a Windows Server Administrator for the Tennessee Valley Authority. In 2019, they became the Owner of 714 Consulting, providing IT training and consulting services. In 2021, they began working as a Solutions Architect for WYRE Technology. Since 2022, they have been the Director of Information Technology for Text Request and an Adjunct Professor at Chattanooga State Community College. Additionally, they have been a volunteer member of the board of directors for the DevOps Collective CFO for DevOps Collective, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working in the technology education space, as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2018.

James Petty, M.S. obtained their High School Diploma from Creek Wood High School in 2007. James then attended Tennessee Technological University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Information Technology) in 2012. Following this, they obtained an ITIL Foundations certification from CSME, Inc. in June 2012. James Petty, M.S. is currently enrolled at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where they are pursuing a Management Information Systems degree in Information Technology.
