Tori Olphin, M.B.E. has a diverse work experience in the fields of research, data science, and academia. Currently, they serve as the Head of Research at the Thames Valley Violence Reduction Unit. Prior to this role, Tori worked as the Lead Data Scientist at Thames Valley Police and as the Director and Chief Data Scientist at Solvarithm. They also served as a Lecturer at the University of Cambridge and at Newman University College. Tori has a strong background in evidence-based policing, having been a Trustee and Communications Director at the Society for Evidence Based Policing. Earlier in their career, Tori worked as a Police Constable and Temporary Detective Sergeant at West Midlands Police.
Tori Olphin, M.B.E. obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Sport and Exercise Sciences from the University of Birmingham in 2005. Tori then pursued further education and earned a Master of Studies (M.St.) degree in Applied Criminology and Police Management from the University of Cambridge between 2013 and 2015. Tori's educational journey continued at the University of Cambridge, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Criminology from 2015 to 2019. Prior to their university studies, Tori attended Newcastle Under Lyme School from 1995 to 2002.
