Ritsu Mizutani is a Japanese audio designer and sound director who has worked in the video game industry since 2004. Ritsu is currently the lead audio designer at Thatgamecompany, best known for their award-winning game Journey.
Mizutani began their career as a sound designer at Square Enix, where they worked on games such as the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series. Ritsu left Square Enix in 2016 to join Bitztream, a smaller game development studio. Mizutani's work on Journey has been praised for its use of ambience and soundscapes to create an emotional and immersive experience.
Ritsu Mizutani attended Waseda University, where they earned a bachelor's degree in politics.
