Gregory Jones

Gregory Jones has worked as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of The Academy Group, Inc since September 2022. As the founding Executive Director of Academy Chicago, they led a team in identifying, developing, and sustaining a diverse local pipeline of future leaders, employers, and change agents. Prior to their work at The Academy Group, Inc, Jones worked at Chicago Public Schools where they held the position of Principal at Kenwood Academy High School from April 2012 to August 2018 and Assistant Principal at Westinghouse College Prep from July 2008 to April 2012. As a principal, they provided school leadership to the cognitive and non-cognitive development of 1760 students in grades 7-12. Gregory also led a team of 160 staff members and managed a school budget of $10 million and facilitated the design and implementation of a data-driven instructional model that was the catalyst for student achievement. As an assistant principal, they designed a teacher selection and support protocol that contributed to the identification of talented faculty members, developed a school climate plan that supported the student academic culture, and led teacher teams in creating a literacy plan that led to student achievement.

Gregory Jones holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Organizational Change and a Master of Arts (MA) in Education from Roosevelt University. Gregory also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting from Grambling State University. In addition, they have obtained an Illinois Superintendent Endorsement from the University of Illinois at Chicago. The specific years of each degree and certification are unknown.
