Dr. Cynthia McCarty-Foley

Dr. Cynthia McCarty-Foley has a diverse and extensive work experience. Dr. Cynthia is currently serving as the Chief Human Resource Officer at The Accelerated Schools since March 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Personnel Officer at LENNOX ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT from January 2020 to March 2022.

From 2007 to 2020, Dr. McCarty-Foley gained valuable experience at Glendale Unified School District, where they held various roles including Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources / Director of Classified Personnel, Director, Human Resources, Assistant Director, Categorical Programs, and Elementary School Principal. As an Elementary School Principal, they were responsible for promoting the Superintendent's goals, serving as an instructional leader, developing leadership capacities in stakeholders, and monitoring data results. Dr. Cynthia also planned and implemented professional development aligned with instructional goals.

Additionally, Dr. McCarty-Foley worked as a USC Adjunct Professor of Education at the University of Southern California, Rossier School of Education from June 2010 to January 2020. Prior to that, they served as an Elementary School Principal at Pico Canyon Elementary School in the Newhall School District from February 2006 to June 2007.

Earlier in their career, they gained experience as an Assistant Principal at John Muir Elementary School in the Glendale Unified School District from June 2002 to February 2006.

Dr. Cynthia McCarty-Foley has a strong educational background in the field of education and leadership. Dr. Cynthia obtained their Doctorate from the University of Southern California's Rossier School of Education in Leadership from 2004 to 2007. Prior to their doctoral studies, they completed their Master of Arts (MA) in Education at California State University, Los Angeles from 1997 to 1999.

Dr. Cynthia'sundergraduate education took place at California State University, Northridge, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from 1988 to 1992.

In addition to their academic achievements, Dr. McCarty-Foley holds a certification as Chief Human Resources Officer, obtained in May 2023 from The Accelerated Schools.
