Kali Gonzales has extensive experience in the education field, including various roles in both administrative and teaching positions. Kali is currently the Director of Schools Support at Achievement Network (ANet) since 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Assistant Principal at Ashley Elementary School from 2016 to 2019, and as a School Review/Consultant at Luminary Learning Network from 2016 to 2018. Gonzales also served as a Principal at Highline Academy Charter School K-8 from 2014 to 2016. In addition, they held roles in Denver Public Schools, including Assistant Principal from 2013 to 2014, Principal Intern from 2012 to 2013, and 5th Grade Teacher from 2011 to 2012. Kali began their teaching career as a 5th Grade Teacher at Cherry Creek School District from 2006 to 2008, Baltimore County Public Schools from 2005 to 2006, and Boise Public School District from 2004 to 2005.

Kali Gonzales began their education journey with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from the University of Idaho, which they completed between 1999 and 2003. Later, between 2010 and 2012, they pursued a Master's Degree in Technology in Education at Lesley University. Following that, they attended The Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver from 2012 to 2013, where they completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. Finally, in 2015 and 2016, they attended the Relay Graduate School of Education, where they focused on Educational Leadership and Administration, General.
