Bill Speer

Bill Speer possesses extensive experience in the newspaper industry, currently serving as the Newspaper Publisher and Editor at The Alpena News since October 1988. In this role, Bill oversees daily operations, including content production and deadlines for Northeast Michigan's local newspaper. Prior to this, Bill worked as Regional Editor at The Intelligencer in Wheeling, West Virginia, from August 1978 to October 1988, managing a team of five reporters responsible for covering multiple counties in Ohio. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from West Virginia University, earned between 1974 and 1978.
