Shannon Waters has a wealth of experience in the non-profit sector. Shannon started their career at the American Cancer Society in 2004, where they held various roles including Community Development and Director of Community Development. Shannon then became the Regional Income Development Director and later, the Senior Director of Relay For Life in North Carolina and South Carolina. Shannon also served as the Director of Relay For Life Program Initiatives before leaving the organization in 2016. After that, they joined St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - ALSAC as the Director of Training & Resources until 2018. Currently, Shannon is working at The ALS Association, where they initially held the position of Senior Director of National Signature Events. Shannon then became the Senior Director of Development Standards & Resources before being promoted to Vice President of Learning and Development in December 2022.
Shannon Waters holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Youngstown State University. In addition, Shannon has obtained certifications in Project Management for Nonprofits from CareerLearning in December 2022, a Certificate of Completion in The Virtual Trainer from the American Management Association in 2016, and a NonProfit Leadership Certification from NonProfitWebAdvisor in January 2022.
