Heather McManus has extensive work experience in the legal field. Heather began their career as an Attorney at the American Kennel Club in January 1993 and eventually worked their way up to Vice President & General Counsel in October 2021. Prior to their current role, they held positions such as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel and Senior Attorney at the same company. Before joining the American Kennel Club, Heather worked at the Will County State's Attorney's Office from an unknown start date to 1992, where they served as Assistant State's Attorney/Chief of Misdemeanor Division. In this role, they supervised a team of 8 attorneys, handled felony cases, oversaw the prosecution of thousands of misdemeanor and state traffic cases, and conducted numerous trials.
Heather McManus earned a JD degree in Law from Notre Dame Law School from 1983 to 1986. Prior to that, they obtained a BA degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder, where they studied from 1979 to 1983.
