Diya Kar's work experience includes roles as an Undergraduate Research Intern at the Marasco Laboratory at Harvard Medical School, an Undergraduate Clinical Research Assistant in Thoracic Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, the Social Media Director & UCLA Chapter President at The American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative, and Logistics at the American Cancer Society. They have also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Shah & Eisenberg Lab at UCLA Health, an Undergraduate Students Association Council FAC Staff at UCLA Undergraduate Students Association Council (USAC), and a Volunteer at UCLA Health at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Diya Kar also founded and served as the President of Jaggo. They have previous experience as a Research Intern at the Mount Sinai Health System and City of Hope.
Diya Kar obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology from UCLA, graduating in 2025. Prior to that, they attended Valencia High School from 2017 to 2021, where they pursued an International Baccalaureate and Technology Diploma in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In 2018 and 2019, they also completed a Computer Science A A program as a Scout from the University of California. Additionally, Diya Kar holds several certifications from the Western University of Health Sciences, including training in biosafety, lab safety, IACUC barrier facility, and using mice in research.
