Rich Bowen

Rich Bowen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in open source software, technical documentation, and community engagement. Currently serving as an Open Source Strategist at Amazon Web Services since March 2022, Bowen has also contributed to the Apache Software Foundation as a Technical Documentation Specialist since 1996, while actively participating as a conference planner and speaker for ApacheCon US and Europe since 2000. Additional roles include Module Author for CPAN, where Bowen developed various Perl modules, and an established author for Pearson Education, focusing on technical literature related to the Apache HTTP server. Notable previous positions encompass the role of CentOS Community Manager at Red Hat and contributions as a Web Engineer at both Message Systems and OmniTi Computer Consulting. Bowen holds an MA in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky and a BS in Mathematics and Physics from Asbury University.
